Energy and Climate Intersections will introduce participants to the many interconnections between energy systems and climate. Students will explore related subjects including food security, energy security, climate policy and environmental justice. The module will contextualize these subject areas in terms of energy production, transmission and use. Participants will understand how energy plays a role in climate work and place renewable energy transition within the context of a changing global climate. The module will explore Indigenous climate leadership, both historically and today.
- Understand how energy plays a role in the global climate conversation and the implications of transition.
- Explore the connections between energy, food security, housing and climate change.
- Understand the linkages specifically between climate policy and energy in a Canadian and global context.
- Explore environmental and climate justice from an Indigenous perspective.
